Over President's Day weekend Evan had two college friends in town to go to the
IU vs. Purdue game. They spent the night in Bloomington, so I got to work on ripping down the wallpaper in the bathroom.
Were you wondering if I was ever going to actually do that?
As you know, I thought I had my paint color selected.... Yachtsman.
But then I started thinking I might want to go with something a little lighter (so typical), a little more minty looking, to go with my McCoy turquoise pieces in the bathroom.
Then I saw an episode of Rehab Addict where Nicole did a black and white bathroom with the exact color I had in mind... Sold.
So I tested a few paint colors and decided I liked the Valspar color "Winter in Paris" the best.
As soon as the guys were in the car I got to work...
Some pieces of the wallpaper came down in nice long strips, some did not.
I worked several hours and got to this point.
Then I had to work really hard and I got REALLY annoyed (and my neck felt like Michelangelo's),
to get the rest of this down... It came down in teeny-tiny-little-pieces.
Doesn't it remind you of an earwax cave or something?
So gross!
Then I had to deal with the MOLD issue over in the corner by the shower....
YES, it is a good thing I took the paper down.
Then I primed the walls with BIN primer.
Then I finally got to paint.
But I was able to finish everything (even hang artwork) before the guys got back from Bloomington.
And here she is!
**On my home computer this photo is accurate color wise... Other computers it is not?!
**These photos seem to show the color more accurately on multiple computers... who knows.
Anyway....
I really like it, it looks fresh and clean but still has a retro vibe.

I ordered a new PB shower curtain, new monogrammed hand-towels and a new bathmat with a PB gift card I have from Christmas.
But it is all on back-order until JUNE??
Oh well, here is a sneak peak of what it will look like....

Imagine black stripes, dots and monogramming.
It will look amazing!
And just in case you are wondering... I did save some of the newsprint wallpaper that I will try to make into an artwork for the bathroom.
YAY!
YAY!

Wow! It's beautiful! I've gotten a bit behind in my blog reading and glad to be catching up. Glad to note that you kept a bit of that paper. It was interesting!
ReplyDeleteLooks great!! Love the color you picked. I meant to ask you if you saved a little piece of the wallpaper--so glad you did!!
